A live-streamed, multi-camera, artist showcase

**Chautauqua Live** was a two night spotlight of artists
and community members who were commisioned as a part of Theatre
Projects Manitoba's Chautauqa: The Interlake Trail (2020/2021 season).

As Technical Digital Director for Theatre Projects Manitoba, Joshua was
responsible for solving for digital delivery of the art and performances
of the Chautauqua team of artists and thus Chautauqua Live was born.
This involved solving and designing for the technical requirements of
embedded live picture-in-picture ASL-English interpretation, switching
between four camera feeds, taking in over 15 audio inputs, and designing
a program that switched between live and pre-recorded content. On top
of that, Josh animated opening and closing credits for Chautauqua Live
and directed and filmed a number of the pre-recorded artist spotlights
for the night.

Chautauqua Live was a success with hundreds of viewers across Canada tuning in across Facebook and Youtube.

An interactive, augmented reality art installation

A part of Culture Days Manitoba's Nuit Blanche 2021.

Joshua
built an augmented reality software that allowed a user to conjure super
powers by signalling gestures - an eyebrow raise would cause pink
lasers to shoot out of one's eyes. A "rock on" hand sign 🤘🏻 would call
lightning from the sky. An exposed palm, a fireball. A dropped jaw, a
halo. Joshua then mounted over twenty vintage televisions inside the two
glass displays at the Exchange District Biz and hid a camera and
computer so that when a person would stand in the centre of these TVs,
they would see themselves on all the screens at once, and be able to
conjure their super powers.

All of the above was never explained
to the audience - it was designed to remain mysterious and to reward the
most curious. There were only "breadcrumbs" for the audience to find
and which taught them how to conjure these super powers - a small TV in
the corner with a Nintendo Entertainment System playing a copy of a game
stuck at it's startup screen, and a poster that contained the following
logline:

> A talented angel battles with amnesia after falling from heaven into the heart of a small Canadian city.

Luv Lite

**Songs of Luv** is a
mix of film, found footage, hand drawn animation, and song to create
music videos that are 30 seconds or less. It started as an exploration
on what would be possible to create on only an iPhone 5s and to live
within the restraints of an Instagram video post (which had an upward
limit of 15 seconds at the time).  Over time, Josh's equipment and
Instagram's restraints expanded but the intention has remained the same -
to experiment within the hypothesis that storytelling through film and
music is accessible to most everyone who has a smartphone.

With tens of thousands of views, Songs of Luv has been running since 2015.
